Horsetail Fall & El Capitan, Yosemite

Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park, is a seasonal waterfall that usually flows only in the winter and early spring. It is sometimes referred to as an ephemeral fall because of its seasonal nature. Also in this picture is the South West face of El Capitan, the enormous granite rock face right-center. Yosemite Valley is about 7.5 miles long and 3000–3500 feet deep. It and the additional 1100 square miles of hiking trails, lakes and wilderness is visited by 4 million people per year on average.
