Cliffs & Clouds in Wide View

This photo shows a wide view of the geological environment of Mesa Verde National Park - with very dramatic storm clouds overhead. Looking closely, you can make out examples of the arched hollows where the cave dwellings were built. Mesa Verde is a wonderful place to spend a few days exploring and imagining what life was like for the ancestral cliff dwellers (Anasazi) from 800 to 1000 years ago.

It is in Colorado very near the Utah border and just a couple of hours away from Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. What a great and very unique experience.
