Bryce Canyon - Rainbow Point

Bryce Canyon National Park is a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. These "amphitheaters" are filled with geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rock.

This very colorful rock provides spectacular views and hikes for park visitors. Being at 8,000 to 9,000 feet elevation, Bryce is at a much higher elevation than nearby Zion National Park.
