"Bee Hive Rocks", panorama
Valley Of Fire, Nevada

Fuji NPS 160 - Tachihara 4x5 field camera w/75mm lens - 1/8 sec. exp. @ f/32 - photo Bill and Sally Fletcher

Valley of Fire is a remarkable geological region of brilliant red rock and sand in the middle of an otherwise "typical" Nevada desert. It was a sacred ground for American Indians and still has fine remains of petroglyphs. Only 45 minutes North of Las Vegas, the region is little known to travelers and not seen from the main highway.

We call this photo "Bee Hive Rocks" for the large formation in the center of the photo. It is a wonderful experience to stand before this beautifully colored and magestic scene in the pristine American desert.
